looking for,..a Christmas Stocking crochet pattern....?
...afairly easy crochet pattern for a meduim sized Christmas stocking... it is for an infants 1st christmas..looked on web, patterns too complicated to follow. Can you post with a photo ( Photo prefered. with directions.)
looking for a Christmas Stocking Crochet pattern.
You can always do what I did when I wanted to make stockings for my kids. I drew out a stocking shape on a piece of paper the size I wanted. Then I did a chain that would fit the bottom of the shape. I started doing dc until it fit my pattern and did inc and/or dec to fit at the end of each row when needed. I just kept going laying my work down on the paper at each row to make sure it was shaping properly and to see what I needed to do for the next row. It really went quite fast. I wrote down what I did for each row so I could make two alike. Once I had these done, I did a row of sc around in white to put the pieces together, leaving the top open. I then did several rows around the top edge of the stocking to fold over the top. For a hanger, I did about 15 chains and sc 1 row down the chain to strengthen it, folded this in half and sewed it to the upper corner where the red and white met. To personalize them I found several christmas patterns for fridgies and sewed one to the front of each stocking. My kids are all grown now but they still have their first stockings that I made for them. Since I had written down what I did for each row, I was able to make them all the same and even make them for my grandkids when they came along.
