Old Crochet
Help with an old crochet pattern!?
I have found an old crochet pattern that I want to make but it does not have a glossary to explain what the abbreviations stand for. It is written like this s dc. I am thinking it might mean half double crochet, but I am not sure and really don't have the patience to go the trial and error route. Any help would be appreciated.
I just rechecked the pattern and it has sc and trc so that makes me wonder even more. While both the answers so far have been helpful, neither really answered the problem.
Based upon a pattern I found on the Internet from the 1950s, I believe it's a reference to what we now call a half-double crochet.
Here's the explaination:
"1 s dc: thread over hook, insert in St, pull through, thread over and work off all loops at one time"
