Suggestions on how to encourage my baby to sleep in her pram for longer than 40 minutes?
When we go out at night, our 6.5month old daughter only sleeps for 40 minutes in her pram before waking up ready to party again. It means we are restricted on where we go out and only do so if there is a quiet room we can set up a port-a-cot as she will sleep in this. No restuarants for us ever again?!
I would like her to be able to sleep at night (when she normally would be at home) so we can still go out with her.
If she only has 40 minutes sleep-she is really grumpy! How can you encourage your baby to sleep 'anywhere'?
Don't expect her to sleep whenever you want her to. Try to get some toys that fully entertain her for awhile. At 6.5 months old she is old enough to go to restuarants with you. I took my daughter with us when she was only a few weeks old, even if she does wake up you just give her a rattle or something else to hold her attention for awhile. Maybe let her sample something soft off of your plate. Granted movies might be off limits for awhile but you should still be able to go to are nice place for a meal. Just try different methods of entertaining her and different toys.
